I. Tools & Materials Needed
Materials:
- PVC corner tape (pre-coated adhesive or non-adhesive)
- Joint compound (drywall mud)
- Primer (optional, for better adhesion)
Tools:
- Drywall knife (6" and 12")
- Utility knife
- Sanding block (120-150 grit)

- Scissors
II. Step-by-Step Installation
Step 1: Surface Preparation
Illustration: A clean, dry corner with no loose debris.
- Ensure the drywall corner is free of dust, grease, or old tape remnants.
- If using non-adhesive PVC tape, apply a thin layer of joint compound first.
Step 2: Cutting the PVC Corner Tape
Illustration: Measuring and cutting the tape at a 45° angle for corners.
- Measure the corner length and cut slightly longer (for adjustments).
- For external corners, miter-cut ends for seamless joints.
Step 3: Applying the Tape
llustration: Pressing the tape into the corner with a drywall knife.
- For self-adhesive tape:
- Peel and stick directly onto the corner, pressing firmly.
- For non-adhesive tape:

- Press into a thin layer of mud, ensuring full contact.

Step 4: Embedding with Joint Compound
Illustration: Applying mud over the tape with a 6" knife.
- Cover the tape completely with **a thin layer of mud (2-3mm).
- Smooth from the center outward to **remove air bubbles and excess mud.

Step 5: Second & Third Coats
Illustration: Feathering the edges wider with each coat.
- 2nd coat (after 24hrs): Apply a wider layer (150mm) with a 12" knife.
- 3rd coat (final): Thin, smooth layer (200mm) for a seamless finish.

Step 6: Sanding & Final Check
Illustration: Sanding lightly for a smooth surface.
- Once dry, sand with 120-150 grit paper.
- Check for ridges or bubbles—reapply mud if needed.

III. Key Tips for Success
Avoid wrinkles – Ensure the tape is straight before embedding.
Feather edges – Blend mud smoothly into the wall.   Drying time – 24hrs between coats in normal conditions.

IV. Common Mistakes & Fixes
Bubbling tape → Peel and reapply with fresh mud.
Visible seams → Add another thin coat and sand.
