EIFS Wall Facade Net

Here is the standardized operating procedure for applying fiberglass mesh on exterior walls, for reference:

I. Pre-construction Preparation
1. Base Surface Treatment
- Ensure the exterior wall substrate is level, solid, free from hollowing, oil stains, or loose material. Uneven areas should be leveled with cement mortar.
- Highly absorbent substrates should be pre-moistened (no standing water).
2. Materials and Tools
- Materials: Fiberglass mesh (alkali-resistant, ≥160g/m²), polymer crack-resistant mortar, anchor nails (if required).
- Tools: Trowel, notched scraper, utility knife, level, mixer, etc.
II. Construction Steps
1. Base Layer Mortar Application
- Apply a 2-3mm thick layer of crack-resistant mortar evenly over the substrate.
2. Mesh Installation
- Cutting**: Cut the mesh to size (recommended length ≤3m), with overlaps ≥10cm (double-layer reinforcement at corners).
- Installation**: Press the mesh into the wet base mortar, smoothing from the center outward to eliminate wrinkles and bubbles.
- Reinforcement Areas**: Additional 300mm-wide mesh strips should be applied diagonally (45°) at openings (doors/windows) and corners.
3. Top Layer Mortar Coverage
- Immediately apply a second layer of crack-resistant mortar (1-2mm thick) to fully embed the mesh, ensuring total mortar thickness of 3-5mm.

4. Curing
- Protect from rain or direct sunlight for 24 hours. Allow natural curing for 3-7 days (adjust based on climate).
III. Key Considerations
1. Environmental Conditions
- Ambient temperature: 5°C–35°C; wind speed ≤ Level 5. Suspend work during rain or extreme heat.
2. Quality Control
- Mesh must not be exposed outside the mortar. Never apply mortar after dry-installing the mesh.
- Mortar must be mixed on-site and used within 2 hours to prevent hardening.
3. Safety Requirements
- Use safety harnesses for elevated work. Scaffolding must be inspected and approved before use.
IV. Troubleshooting
- Hollowing: Remove affected areas and reapply mortar and mesh.
- Cracks: Check mortar mix ratio or mesh overlap compliance.
Following these steps ensures enhanced crack resistance and durability of exterior walls. Adjustments may be needed based on design specifications and local regulations.
